Becoming Better Readers…

A new section being added to the displays website is ‘Parents’, so I’ve been working on various resources to bridge the home/school gap.

Here is just 1 resource that is currently under way…

This poster will be available for download on August 15th, when we launch our new website designs.

From this poster, our facebook community started discussing what other resources they would find useful for parents. Here are just some of the suggestions:

“I would love some phonic pointers to send home to parents as well as letter and number formation”

“As a reading recovery teacher I think that something to explain to parents how to help their child read successfully would be good – e.g. identifying tricky words and most importantly let them make mistakes and don’t interrupt”

“Home school behaviour reward cards for communication”

If you have any suggestions for ‘parents’ resources then feel free to comment below πŸ™‚

Another very useful resource – one which I think we will be sending home to our parents.
Thanks for your hard work πŸ™‚

  2. Thanks Sarah, glad you like it.
Will have lots more goodies for parents very soon.
