Safe Internet Research

Have you tried using primaryschoolict.com for internet research with your class?

It’s a ‘safe search’ tool that’s also a lot less overwhelming for children than a normal Google display page.

You can even custom build a search page for your class or school….

There is also Simon Haughton’s brilliant KS1 encyclopedia which is a great way for children to explore safely through various topics such as: castles, superheroes, Florence Nightingale and plants.

If anyone is interested in how to progress internet research skills from yrs 1-6 then the wonderful Mr Haughton also has a great blog post about it Progression in internet research

Including planning guides for each year group which is so helpful!
