THINK Maths By Teacher’s Pet

If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram then you may have seen our posts about THINK Maths this week. As promised, I have put together a blog post to try and explain a little about this new project and how you can get your hands on it.

With a new website to house all our content being just around the corner, this felt like the right time to start a project that would see our resources become more streamlined, targeted and easier for you to use in the classroom on a day to day level.

Instead of searching the web for hours on end, trawling various different websites or sitting in Microsoft Word trying desperately to make an activity that looks appealing, every time you sit down to plan Maths for your week ahead… wouldn’t it be wonderful to simply download a ready made pack of resources?

That’s where THINK Maths comes into play. We have created Medium term planning for Spring, Summer and Autumn, as well as weekly planning guides for you to follow and use alongside the packs of activities that we provide. All you need to do then is what you do best – TEACH!

We already follow another source for our planning, can we still use your resources?
Absolutely! Each week’s area of Maths (i.e. Number: Fractions) is clearly marked on the overview sheet, as well as each day’s teaching focus. So you can easily use the activities as and when you need them in the year, you don’t have to follow our medium term plan to benefit from the resources.

When will all the Spring term packs be available?
As I’m sure you can appreciate, this is a huge project for us. Each day (Monday-Friday) a new year group and weeks worth of planning and resources will be added to the games and activities website for you to download. By Christmas, the first 6 weeks of the Spring term planning and resources will be available for all year groups as well as the full term overview. In theory, we will always be at least 6 weeks ahead. So by April, the first 6 weeks of the Summer scheme will be available and so on.

I already have an account with Teacher’s Pet. Will I need to pay more for this?
All this is included in our regular subscription price. No hidden or additional costs like most websites these days. If you’re already a subscriber to our games and activities website, then you can go ahead and download the content that’s available NOW.
If you’re not currently a subscriber then an annual subscription is just £12! This will give you access to all our THINK Maths packs as well as the already existing thousands of games and activities that we have online. Just head to our registration page and get your account set up.
If you’ve had a subscription in the past, but it has now expired, you can renew your account for just £10 – simply log into your account and follow the on screen directions to renew.

I don’t yet have an account. Is there a way for me to preview the packs?
We’ve always understood that people like to see what’s on offer before subscribing. That’s why on our website, every resource we have has several preview images which can all be viewed without having an account with us. You can happily browse our content and decide if it’s for you, before signing up.
In addition to this, if you don’t yet have an account with us and would like a sample pack of our THINK Maths, which you can view as a PDF, then feel free to get in touch via emailor via our Facebook page. As this is a preview pack and not intended to be used, the pages will be watermarked (watermarks will not be present in the packs when you have an account and download them from the website).

Can I edit the resources?
Throughout the packs, we have tried to ensure that there is a good range for differentiation when needed. When this isn’t possible or we feel the teacher would need more control over the content, we have included a Microsoft Word version as well as the standard PDF, so that the teacher can add their own content.
If you feel there is a resource in the pack that you would like to be able to edit, but there is no Microsoft Word version available in the folder, simply pop us an email and let us know. We will then email you an editable version as well as upload it into the website pack for other teachers to use.

What to expect from us…
Whilst this is going to keep us extremely busy for the next 12 months, we will continue to add display resources to our free displays website every week, as well as additional content to our activities and games subscription website on a weekly basis…
…All whilst beavering away in the background building our new website! More on that later!

So, I think that has covered all the bases but as always, if you have a question, I’m just a Facebook message or email away.
