Yellow Brick Road Story Retelling

Such a brilliant visual prompt for story retelling! – ‘Yellow Brick Road Retell’.

I think I would make A4 or even A3 versions and laminate, then let the children stand on the stepping stone as they retell that part of the story.

Of course, this doesn’t just have to be used for retelling, they could also use them to help put together their own stories…

Stand on the ‘setting’ stone – what will the setting be for your story?
Stand on the ‘characters’ stone – how many characters will your story have? What are their names? Who is the main character? What are they like?

Or, if they have written a story, they could use the yellow brick road to share a brief summary about it with the class.
